Bishop Talley talks about the meaning of the statue of St. Francis and St. Claire.

I spotted this small shrine as I finished interviewing then Msgr. David P. Talley. It was one of the items that had not been packed at his former office at St. Brigid Church, Johns Creek, before his ordination as a bishop.

I figured there would be a good story behind it, so I asked him about this wooden statue of St. Francis, one of the most popular Catholic saints, and his sister, St. Claire. Listen to Bishop Talley tell the story of the statue and what it means to him.

Our next issue will have complete coverage of Bishop Talley's April 2 ordination, along with insights from members of the disabilities community, former parishioners, and others who know him best.
